The Zittau 99 555
History of the locomotive
The machine was within the 6th delivery series (1908/1909) in the Saxon mechanical engineering factory, formerly Richard Hartmann AG, Chemnitz in 1908 with the Factory number 3208 built and delivered to the Royal Saxon State Railways. This put the locomotive with the number 145 in service. With the transition to the German Reichsbahn was assigned their company number 99 555. In 1962 she received a Neubaukessel in the context of a reconstruction and u. a. new water and coal boxes. On the 27th. December 1973, the machine in Mügeln "z"-parked. But she did not come to the old iron, but was in May 1977 in Söllmnitz (at the former Gera - Wuitz - Mumsdorf Route) as a monument. From her dreary existence, she redeemed on August 23, 2002 the IV Zittau narrow gauge railways through the acquisition and she returned with a hopeful future to Bertsdorf home. Here she was temporarily parked on track 1a, before she found in the engine shed an old / new home.
Now the first steps began with a partial dismantling and the processing of parts. On Monday, May 19, 2008, the responsible representatives signed the SOEG Zittau narrow-gauge railway and the interest association of the Zittauer narrow-gauge railways e.V. a contract for the IV K locomotive 99 555. This enables the operational Refurbishment and use of the machine by the SOEG. On May 26, 2008, the already partially dismantled locomotive with the road low loader of Press GmbH in the Refurbishment workshop MaLoWa brought to Benndorf. From there she returned on July 24, 2009 back to our track, now in the old building state and in the color scheme the Royal Saxon State Railways as number 145th On 31.07.2009 the ceremonial re-commissioning took place. The machine will be contracted in the long term the SOEG used and operated.
